Jennifer Weinmann, LMFT
Couples & Relational Therapist serving Washington State.
Expert guidance for real relational change.
A Little About Me
Hi! I’m Jen — a therapist who appreciates a good cup of coffee, cares deeply about people who try really hard, and someone who knows her way around an overthinking spiral.
I’m also someone who genuinely believes that people aren’t “broken” — they’re doing the best they can with the patterns they learned to survive. And those patterns? They make perfect sense once we slow down enough to actually see them.
My work is grounded, relational, and honest. I’m warm, but I’m not passive. I bring steadiness and attunement that allows for insight that’s been difficult for you to find on your own. I sit right in the middle with you — the place where real change actually happens.
Why I Do This Work
I’ve always been deeply fascinated by the way people relate — to themselves, to their partners, to their stress, to their past, and to the stories they carry. Most of us walk around with emotional blueprints we didn’t choose, reacting in ways we don’t fully understand.
I became a therapist because I wanted to help people make sense of those patterns — not by pathologizing them, but by understanding them.
There’s nothing more meaningful to me than watching someone shift from:
“What’s wrong with me?” to “Oh… that makes sense.”
That moment changes everything.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
Clients often tell me I’m the first therapist who actually says things — not in a harsh way, but in a grounded, steady, “let’s look at this together” kind of way.
Here’s what you can expect:
A calm, steady presence I hold the emotional tone of the room so you don’t have to. When things feel overwhelming, I help you slow down and find your footing.
Direct guidance (without the sting) If you’re stuck in a loop, I’ll name it. Kindly. Clearly. And with enough humor that it doesn’t feel like a punch to the gut.
Curiosity instead of judgment Your reactions make sense once we understand where they come from. I’m here to help you explore them, not shame them.
A pace that honors your nervous system We don’t bulldoze your defenses. We work with them — gently, steadily, and intentionally.
Tools that actually work in real life Not generic advice. Not “communication tips.” Actual relational tools that help you show up differently.
A collaborative process I guide the structure, but we make sense of your patterns together. You’re not doing this alone.
My Approach - Relational, Direct & Deeply Human
I’m trained in relational therapy, IFS‑informed work, and RLT — which means I pay attention to:
your nervous system
your emotional logic
your relational patterns
your protective strategies
the stories you’ve carried for years
the ways you learned to survive
I’m not here to “fix” you. I’m here to help you understand yourself so you can finally feel like you’re living from a grounded, connected place — not survival mode.
My Background
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 15+ years of experience working with individuals and couples across Washington State. My work is rooted in relational therapy, trauma‑responsive care, and a deep understanding of how stress, attachment, and survival strategies shape the way we show up in our relationships.
I’m trained in:
Relational Life Therapy (RLT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS‑informed)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Trauma‑responsive and nervous‑system‑informed care
Substance use and co‑occurring relational patterns
High‑conflict couples work
Alongside my clinical practice, I’m also a Faculty Instructor in an Addiction Studies program, where I teach future clinicians how to understand substance use, trauma, and relational dynamics through a systemic, culturally responsive lens. Teaching keeps me sharp, grounded, and connected to the evolving landscape of mental health — and it allows me to bring the most current, practical, real‑world tools directly into the therapy room.
Over the years, I’ve worked with clients navigating everything from trauma to infidelity to communication breakdowns to the quiet disconnection that creeps in when life gets heavy. I bring clinical depth, structure, and a steady presence to every session — with just enough humor to make the hard moments feel a little more human.

Training & Certifications
I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. While I treat a variety of concerns, my passion lies in relational work—helping people navigate conflict, disconnect, infidelity and betrayal, high‑functioning burnout, generational trauma patterns and substance use issues. My approach is rooted in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which means I bring an active, truth‑telling stance into the room.
Before opening my own private practice, West Oak Therapy & Consultation, I spent over a decade serving clients in diverse, high‑intensity environments. I have worked in group private practice, community mental health, crisis outreach, and behavioral health triage and detox units. Long before my counseling career began, I spent years working with kids and young adults as a youth director, an after‑school AmeriCorps volunteer, and a high school coach. That early foundation in education naturally evolved into my current dual role as a therapist and faculty instructor, where I now train and supervise the next generation of emerging clinicians.
